Is laser hair removal safe on the full body?

Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment for the full body. Laser delivers pulses of energy into the skin. Depending on your skin type a laser is selected to safely deliver this energy into the skin. This energy targets hair follicles and disables them. New hairs are prevented from regrowing after a number of treatments. Our lasers are FDA approved, medical grade devices that are fully serviced to ensure you get the best out of each and every one of your sessions with us. Are all skin types suitable for laser hair removal on the body?

Yes, all skin types are suitable for laser hair removal on the body. For pale/medium skin types we use an Alexandrite laser and for dark skin types we use an Nd:Yag.

How many treatments are needed for the full body?

6 -10+ treatments are needed for the full body area for laser hair removal. After an intial course of treatment a reduction in the region of 80-85% can be achieved for most people. However, some people may need more than this. Issues like underlying medical conditions and hereditary factors may influence the outcome of a course of treatment. Top up sessions are needed to maintain results, 2-3 sessions may be needed each year.

What areas are suitable on the full body?

All areas of the body are suitable for full body laser hair removal. Areas include the legs, larms, nipple, chest, abdomen, back and buttock areas. It is essential that hairs in the treatment area contain brown or black pigment. Hairs that are blond, grey, red or white will not respond to treatment.

Does laser hair removal hurt on the full body?

Some areas may feel more sensitive than others but laser hair removal should not hurt. We use a pain scale of 1-10, we ask during treatment that you feel around a 5. You should feel a slight, warm bearable pinch. Our therapists are experts in what they do and will adjust treatment to make sure you are comfortable throughout. Our lasers also have cooling systems built in and deliver a jet of cold air onto the skin during treatment to minimise any sensation you may feel.

Is laser hair removal permanent on the full body?

No, results of laser hair removal on the full body are not permanent. It’s important that you know the truth before you start laser. This is not a 6 session miracle cure for excess hair. The reality is the majority of people will need more than 6 sessions for their initial course. Top up/maintenance sessions will be needed on an ongoing basis to maintain your reduction. Results from laser can be life changing in many different ways. If you are shaving daily and dealing with ingrown hairs and irritated skin, laser can dramatically change your life

To get the best out of each one of your full body laser hair removal treatments prepare well. Follow these quick and easy steps before each one of your treatments Lightly exfoliate 3-4 days before your session is dueHydrate your skin in the days afterwardsShave your treatment area 24 hours before your session Use shaving foam and a sharp razor and shave slowlyBe meticulous, remove hairs from all your treatment areaBe sure your skin is free from all products on the day of your sessionIf you have applied any topical products after shaving ensure these are washed offIf you have had to take any new medications inform us a few days before your appointmentAvoid tea/coffee directly before your appointment, these are stimulants and may affect how you feel during your session
